Advancing Sustainable Agriculture
This workshop is organized within Working Group 2 (WG2) of the weedingMAPs project, a collaborative network spanning 40 countries. The primary goal is to develop a catalogue of actions and recommendations that help farmers adopt Non-Chemical Weed Management (NCWM) methods for medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs).
Key Discussion Topics
How to involve farmers in the creation and use of non-chemical strategies.
Methods for sharing knowledge about the economic benefits of these sustainable practices.
Supporting start-up companies that develop innovative tools for weed imaging and analysis.
The role of farmers' associations in spreading success stories and best practices.
Engaging young farmers, schools, and universities in learning about NCWM.
The organizing committee includes experts from Portugal (Prof. Vítor João Pereira Domingues Martinho), Croatia (Mrs. Jelena Ružić), Poland (Dr.sc. Artur Sobolewski), and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Prof. Stanislava Talić), supported by a scientific committee of researchers from across Europe. We invite researchers, farmers, students, and policymakers to join us in Mostar to shape the future of sustainable weed management.
